Glyncoch Community Centre calls out for votes to bag a share of bag charge fund

Glyncoch Community Centre has been shortlisted for a public vote in Tesco’s “Bags of Help” initiative. Please vote for Glyncoch to win the top prize every time you shop during February 2017!!

Glyncoch Community Regeneration Limited is bidding to bag a massive cash boost from the Tesco Bags of Help initiative.

Tesco teamed up with Groundwork to launch the monthly funding scheme, which sees grants of £5,000, £2,000 and £1,000 – all raised from the 5p bag levy – being awarded to local outdoor community projects.
Three groups in every Tesco region have been shortlisted to receive the cash award and this month shoppers are being invited to head along to Tesco stores to vote for who they think should take away the top grant.

Glyncoch Communtiy Centre is one of the groups on the shortlist.
The community centre is one of the central hubs of Glyncoch – it hosts numerous activities for all ages such as two mother and toddler groups, family activities, a youth club, a job club, a weekly list of different adult education courses and numerous social gatherings.
With over 250 visitors per week, this has taken its toll on the building and its external area. If successful, this fund would go a long way to refurbishing the building and help attract more activities.

Voting is open in stores from 1st February to 25th February. Customers will cast their vote using a token given to them at the check-out in store each time they shop so please, every time you visit Tesco throughout February, please vote for Glyncoch!!!
